To be honest, I’m not familiar with this extract at all and had to spend a whole day Google-ing all about it, but I bought it anyway because it was best recommended to use alongside the Centella Asiatica Extract. Do a patch test first to see if your skin reacts well with it, and ALWAYS apply moisturizer after to avoid over-drying and/or skin cracking. I use this particular One Thing extract as an acne treatment by soaking a cotton pad with it, then pressing and holding the pad directly to the affected area after my toning step, followed by my serums and moisturizers. I personally vouch for this, as I’ve seen miraculous results changing up my products to Cica-based ones. If you didn’t know, acne lesions are essentially wounds and need to be treated as such, so applying or incorporating Centella Asiatica extract into your skincare routine is ideal for those who are going through a rough time dealing with acne. These tigers were found rolling around the Cica plants to heal their bruises after their hunting activities, and their skin would recover flawlessly overnight. They told me that one of the first scientist who discovered the Centella Asiatica herb found it amidst a streak of tigers in the wild. Jart+ (and when their Cicapair promotion was going on), I asked why their campaign mascot was a tiger. When I traveled to Seoul last year and met up with the beautiful team at Dr. More commonly known as ‘Cica’ ( or Asiatic pennywort or tiger grass) and should be a pretty familiar term to K-Beauty lovers, this perennial herb is grown primarily in India and Pakistan. I read that it’s actually best to put it into smaller containers (a spray bottle, directly into your existing skincare, etc) and then keeping the rest of the product in the fridge, which is a good tip for those who are concerned about this issue. Although it’s really beautiful to look at, I am quite nervous to see how long this would actually last before either going bad or deteriorating in efficacy. While I have no problem with this (if you make sure to recycle them properly), the transparent bottle troubles me most because something with very little/no preservatives and additives are extremely sensitive to light. From photos and reviews, the packaging looks like it’s bottled in a glass casing but it’s actually clear plastic. Now, let’s get into the less fun thing about this. It may sound like a blood vessel connected to your heart, but it’s actually one of the best forms of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory herbs in skincare… and looks like a capillary. My eyes immediately drew towards the Centella Asiatica Extract because it was the most familiar one to me, and then it was recommended to be paired together with the Artemisia Capillaris Extract. One bottle was, at average, around RM45 each, with the exception of a couple of their more potent products in the line. If you’ve not seen the prices for these products yet, I want you to close your eyes right now and give it a rough estimate for a full 150ml bottle of pure Centella Asiatica. Firstly, the packaging looked so luxurious and classy that I almost could not believe what I saw next: the price. Let me walk you through my thought process when I first discovered the brand.
